I.              Call to Order -

The regular meeting of the Associated Students of Grays Harbor College was called to order at 3:39 PM on February 8^th, 2011 in the West Wing Multi-Purpose Room by Daniel Juarez.

Senator for Outreach (Mohammed Ikram Ibrahim):

Announcements: Students asking about weekly newspaper, gave some information to Daniel about a person who may want to run it. Possibility of getting some form of identifaction about being on student council on our transcripts brought up.

Announcements: Jeremy is starting to get into the swing of things. I was unable to attend the GHAB meeting due to a family emergency.

GHAB: J the Sex Educator will be here on February 10th @ 1:00 in the HUB.Maya Angeloo coming up.

Senator for Legislative Affairs (Andrew Bolton):
Announcements: Andrew apologized for arriving late. We need to get a meeting time scheduled for the election committee and bylaw committees.

Senator for Clubs & Organizations (Amber Steward):
Announcements: Nothing New. Will not be attending office hours on 2/9/11.

Announcements: Holly has decided to step down from her position.

Greg motioned to accept the resignation of Holly Matteson.

VIII.        Advisor Report - Cal -

Report posted online. College has purchased 12 AED’s, training for them is going to be free on March 25^th from 1:00 to 4:30 PM. We need to know a week and a half before the incident.

Cal appreciated people being aware of bothering him when he is in a door closed meeting.

Counseling center requested funding for the depression speaker. They were under the understanding that student council would pay for it if they arranged it. This is an obvious miscommunication, so we need to be careful to avoid these miscommunications in the future.

IX.           Unfinished Business -

a)    Winter Fundraiser Update: Big posters up around town by next weekend, to be printed before next meeting. Any artist provided by Thursday morning will make it onto the advertising. Daniel will put up a sign up for food on the wall near the work area ASAP for people to sign up for what they are bringing.

b)    Ballot Counts for the Daily World: The daily world has asked us to volunteer some people to help count ballots for the best of Grays Harbor contest. Greg & Kelly and possibly David have volunteered from council. Starts at 4:00 – 7:00. GHAB is sending Ashley and Dustin.

c)     Old Office Clean Up: We need to get the entire old office cleaned by Friday. Daniel, David, Kelly, Jeremy, Ikram have agreed to show up for the cleanup at 1:30 on Friday.

X.            New Business -

a)     Blitz for Basketball game: Amber will be from 8-9, Kelly 8-?, Daniel 8-10, Greg 8-?.

XI.           Announcements – A “make your sign” party tomorrow @ 3:30 in the west wing.

Council will post an open senator position by Friday. Position will remain open for applications until 2/18/11.

Greg motioned to approve the letters provided by Jeremy West and Kelly Schaffert to switch positions.

Lana has asked everybody to “like” the facebook page.

Discussion about Jeremy and Kelly switching positions.  Cal will arrange for a meeting with them for new orientation
